We are always on the lookout for keen volunteers to help out at the Centre.
If you are interested please get in touch by emailing email@example.com or phone 0131 510 7970 and leave a message. One of our team will get back to you for a chat about how we can make use of your skills.
We are not just looking for people who can Kayak or Sail. If you would like to learn, then we can train you, or refresh skills if they are a bit rusty. We also need people to help with building upkeep and duty managers/wardens to help run sessions on land.
If you can spare a few hours on an evening or weekend during the summer months (or know someone who can) drop us a line and we will get in touch.
Roles @ Longcraig
Runs the centre during a session. Point of contact for customers
Helps the duty manager
Responsible for on water saftey of all staff and participants
Leads or assists with kayaking
Helms or crews one of our sailing craft
Leads raft building and supervises on water
We also need people landside to support the on water team, help set out and stow the equipment, maintain the center and our fleet, carry out admin and organise on shore.
So if you don't want to get wet, there is still a lot you can do to help.
To fill a volunteer role you must be over 18 and able to join the Longcraig Active Support Unit. There is no cost to you but your time.

Explorers @ Longcraig
Longcraig now has an Explorer Unit offering water-based activities and Achievement Opportunities to Explorers across South East Scotland to complement their 'home' Unit's programme. These include paddle expeditions, getting your Instructor badge & permit, helping other young people in Scouting with watersports, Zodiac Challenge camps and many more.
