We will be operating under amended Terms & Conditions this year to allow us to be more flexible in meeting the needs of our customers and volunteers, reflecting the new reality of the post pandemic era. Details can be found in the Customer Portal. These changes are intended to make it easier to book and change activities, minimising the need for re-invoicing and refunds, in a situation where both Longcraig and customers may have to make changes at short notice.

Longcraig is a water sports centre owned and operated by the Scout Association and run entirely by volunteer staff. The centre operates from a purpose built building situated in the corner of the Dalmeny Estate by Longcraig pier, South Queensferry. Our purpose is to provide adventurous activities based around the water for Scouts and Guides living in the South East of Scotland and for those visiting from other regions . Longcraig is also a recognised RYA training centre and all our activity staff hold RYA and BCU qualifications as well as Scout activity permits. We take activity session bookings from Scout and Guide groups and can offer activities for Cubs to Explorers and Leaders. Book one of our sessions to try sailing, kayaking or rafting.

We are OPEN for BOOKINGS

After a 2 year break we are finally able to bring you the best adventure activities available on the Forth. Demand is expected to be high so book early to avoid disappointment.

We have a new minimum booing number of 12 places, but we have held our prices at 2019 levels (£12.50 pp). Plus we've made it even easier to adjust numbers and you don't need to pay a deposit. Just make sure you pay in full 14 days before your activity date.

Season 2022

For the 2022 Season special terms and conditions apply. Prices will be held at 2019 level (£12.50 pp). Booking numbers are restricted (Min 12 / Max 24) and there will be a reduced number of available dates. This is being done to reduce crowding and allow time for enhanced cleaning of the centre between bookings. We won't be taking a deposit at booking , but require payment 2 weeks before your activity date. We will offer a full refund if you are unable to attend for covid related reasons and cancel or reduce numbers (subject to minimum booking numbers). Please advise us as soon as you know you are unable to attend so that we can offer your places to another group or stand down our team. These changes will be reviewed as updated guidance from Scottish Headquarters is released.

GetInvolved @ Longcraig - we are looking for people to join our volunteer team. If you would like to get involved check out our recruitment page.

We are not just looking for water qualified people. We need volunteers to help get the boats out of storage and stowed away at the end of each session and to help get participants on to the water. We also need people who can help maintain and look after our buildings and equipment. Longcraig is supported by a core team of just 35 people, yet we deliver activities almost everyday from May to September. We would relay like to spread the load and hope you can help.

Please see our recruitment page for details.
